It was a bit of an accident that I got into photography. In December 2007, at the end of my first semester of college at the University of Oklahoma, there was a crippling ice storm. I was in awe of the damage that it caused, but also of the beauty of it. I didn’t have a camera at the time, so I purchased a couple disposable cameras to use to get some pictures. The pictures were pretty awful. Haha. I subsequently asked for a camera for Christmas (expecting a point and shoot if I got one). I got a camera, but it was a DSLR. It was overwhelming at first, but by using it and learning how to adjust the settings to get the pictures I wanted, I discovered a passion for photography. I started making fine art prints of my photography and exhibiting and selling at art shows and galleries in 2019. I did that for a short period until the pandemic put an end to most of that in early 2020. In late 2020 I decided to make some big life changes and put the fine art printing on hold indefinitely. I picked up fine art printing again in early 2023. I currently live in Springdale, AR, and in my free time, in addition to hiking and photography, I enjoy running, cooking/baking, reading, listening to podcasts, and volunteering for cat care at the Best Friends Pet Resource Center.
