INTO+VIEW is the art space I wished existed when I moved here in 1999—a gallery and work space that would be welcoming to me as a Black woman, provide representation and a safe space to express myself creatively. This gallery will bring into view under-represented artists of color, women, and artists of advanced age.
INTO+VIEW will be a vehicle for establishing critical context connections, solidarity, and a sense of community for the artists by means of exhibitions, musical performances, shared art experiences featuring culinary arts, and resident artists’ workshops.

I am an interdisciplinary and multimedia artist, mother and wife. My work is reflective of my experience as a Black woman, what I find beautiful, and what gives me life. I often work very quickly, obsessively, until I empty my thoughts with color. I wish for my artistic works and creative endeavors to educate, enlighten and engage. I find that expressing myself via art to be like water—absolutely vital for a healthy body and mind. It keeps me balanced as I navigate a world that has long ignored my struggle, my worth, and my voice as a Black woman.. My current body of work features larger format substrates, bright colors, bold strokes, metallics, and gold leaf, with subject matter ranging from historical portraiture, civil rights to Florida sunsets and still life.
