As a local native of Northwest Arkansas, much of my work is inspired by my natural surroundings here in the Ozarks. But I like to compare my practice of hand-making pots to sorcery and witchcraft because the experience of creating something from almost nothing is magic for me. Hand-making as a practice of mindfulness is the driving force behind my craft. I hope my pottery pieces will function in their new homes with a purpose of bringing more presence into the users’ rituals of daily life.
