Every pup is a Pretty Pup and a little signature color can help their personality shine! As a pitbull parent through and through, I know about misunderstood dogs because of their size or perceptions about the breed and sometimes a silly (and super cute) accessory is all it takes to let the world know your pup is friendly.
Our collars are durable and built with safety in mind. The beads are 20mm acrylic bubblegum beads (tough enough to withstand a teething super chewer with only minimal teeth marks) strung on a vinyl-wrapped steel cable and crimped tightly closed with aluminum ferrules. By default, we use ABS breakaway buckles to prevent strangulation, but can swap that out with a stainless steel o-ring carabineer for a rough and tumble pup. (Our breakaway buckles are dog park tested and have made it through lots of wrestling without coming off!)

Bio
I started making beaded dog collars because my senior pitbull, Adeline, suddenly started showing symptoms of hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive blood vessel cancer. I booked a session with a pet photographer to have some memento photos and wanted her to look fancy after having undergone an emergency splenectomy. To give her time to recover from the surgery, the photoshop was booked three weeks out. Sadly, we did not make it but I took a portrait of Addie and did my best with my limited photography skills to make it look as professional as this sweet dog deserved.
I ordered extra beads because I wasn’t sure how many it would take and used them to make collars for my friends’ and family’s dogs and then kept making collars. It was a good way to keep busy in the grieving process. With about 400 collars now in my house, a maker friend encouraged me to apply for a vendor market and I did. I got my booth display in order (all pink to honor Adeline’s memory) and had a really successful first show!
Seeing dogs wearing beaded collars and the joy their owners have choosing the right one always make me smile. It’s a way to let Adeline’s silly, sweet nature live on and share what made her so special with other dog parents. The connection we share through our pups is valuable and beautiful and that’s the why I believe every pup is a Pretty Pup.
