Gyuto with 8” 1095 steel blade with coral maple handle.
Only knife I currently have with a hamon. For those who aren’t familiar with what a hamon is, it’s the line formed during the hardening process outlining the hardened zone that contains the cutting edge. This happens when knives are differentially hardened by using refractory clay along the spine allowing it to cool slower than the cutting edge during the quench. The result is a hardened edge for cutting and a softer spine for resilience and durability. The Japanese Katana is known for the hamon line that runs the length of the blade.

Bio
Hey thanks for visiting! My name is Shawn Wright. I live in Rogers Arkansas with my wife and 2 sons. I got into blacksmithing after watching Forged in Fire with my sons and they said, “Dad, do you think you could do that?” Of course I said yes and here I am! I live making custom pieces unique to the individual who is purchasing it. All of my knives are hand forged and no two are exactly alike. It’s become a true passion of mine and I take test pride in my craft. Please contact me with any questions or requests!
