Bio
Beth Owen is originally from El Dorado, Arkansas but has lived in Northwest Arkansas for over 30 years. She began painting at an early age taught by both her mother and grandfather who were artists in their own right. Beth was raised in a home where the arts were central in her childhood and upbringing; music, dance, literature, theater, and film were all art forms she dabbled in. Her influences in visual art come primarily from nature and life’s nuances; particularly memory, joy, as well as grief and loss. She is particularly influenced by the abstract expressionist movement of post WWII America. Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, and Joan Mitchell are among her favorite artists. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Arkansas in 2015.
