Insects are not only very annoying, but also very dangerous as they can carry a variety of diseases. Mosquitoes can carry protozoan diseases such as malaria, filarial diseases such as elephantiasis and congenital viral diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever, encephalitis, Chikungunya, and West Nile virus.

The problem is, conventional chemical-based insect repellent can be equally as bad

because it can act as a germicidal agent that is very dangerous to humans.

Naturepel Insect Repellent offers a safe and natural alternative to chemical-based insect repellents. In the comparative arm-in-cage test, OLE outperforms tropical strength commercial repellents which contain DEET or IR3535. DEET has been linked to neurological problems; according to the EPA, at least 18 different cases of children suffering adverse neurological effects, as well as the deaths of two adults, have been associated with DEET. Researchers at Duke University Medical Center have found that DEET causes diffuse brain cell death and behavioral changes in rats. DEET has been shown to have a negative impact on wildlife and water sources in production and during use. DEET is toxic to birds and aquatic life. DEET has been found in approximately 75 percent of U.S. water sources, including the Mississippi River.

Naturepel uses Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus (OLE), not to be confused with lemon eucalyptus essential oil used in many natural insect repellents, which has not shown the same effectiveness against mosquitoes and other insects.

Directions:

For children 12 years of age and under, please use Children’s Naturepel. Shake well before use. Apply lightly to skin. Best applied to clothing, shoes, and gear. Lasts up to 6 hours. Reapply every hour for maximum protection. May also be used on household surfaces and to treat insect bites. Best if used within 6 months.
