Rebecca S Zufelt is a mother and self-taught artist who grew up in Springfield, Missouri, where she worked as a commercial/residential painting contractor for 20 years until the death of her husband. She later re-married and chose to attend art courses at Ozarks Technical Community College to hone her art skills. Her art and writing focus on her emotional journey of life, loss, healing and her love of nature. She currently lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas and continues to develop her art skills. The artwork she creates ranges from painting, photography, sculpting, mosaics, jewelry, drawing and writing. Nature is a theme that is woven throughout her artwork.

My name is Rebecca S Zufelt. I am Native American descended from the Sauk and Fox, Absentee Shawnee Tribes, and people of many regions throughout Europe. It is through this lens that I have been viewed. This has shaped my perspective and my experiences of this world. Some of my artwork explores this journey of life and self-discovery. I am a self-taught artist who grew up in Springfield, Missouri and currently live in Fayetteville, Arkansas. My influences include William Blake, and Edgar Allan Poe. The artwork I create includes painting, sculpting, mosaics, jewelry, drawing and writing. My inspiration is my experiences in life and nature. My art is to promote reflection of the impact each of us has on ourselves, the people in our lives, our communities, and the world. I believe humanity is one and we are all connected to each other and to this world. It is those connections that my art and writings explore. Nature is a theme throughout many of my works. “We are all a part of the story of this world; I want people to walk away with that in mind and hopefully reflect on what part they add to this story.”
