This Norfolk Island Pine Wood Serving Platter with fixed Rainbow Poplar Cup/Toothpick Holder would be a welcome addition to any table setting or party spread. It measures 13 inches in diameter. I hand turned and fitted these two pieces creating an eye catching, versatile serving platter. This piece had some voids around the knot holes that gave me an opportunity to fill them with Stone Malachite Inlay. The Rainbow Poplar cup/toothpick holder is 2 inches deep and 1.75 inches wide. I turned a 5 inch wide by 1 inch deep bowl into the center of the platter, but left a half inch tall island in the middle as a riser for the cup. This creates a nice moat around the toothpick holder for dips, spreads, veggies, pickles, olives or whatever you bring to the table. Outside of the moat’s raised rim, a 4 inch serving platform provides the stage for your culinary creations or drinks for the whole table. After turning, this platter was coated in food grade hemp oil and Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner. Howard’s is a revitalizing blend of genuine beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax (hardest natural wax available), and pure USP Food Grade Mineral Oil. I recommend using Howard’s from time to time to protect and condition the wood. Hand wash with a soft dish cloth and mild soap, then towel dry. You will receive the exact item pictured.
